This course strengthens the skills of intelligence professionals through focused training on advanced analytic techniques, analytic products, and communication strategies in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT). It incorporates modern technological tools to enhance learning and ensure participants gain practical proficiency with software used in contemporary information gathering. Through applied exercises and a capstone project, participants will consolidate their skills to produce high quality and actionable OSINT outputs suited to current intelligence environments.
The course is designed to enhance participants’ analytic thinking and OSINT analysis capabilities by reinforcing core principles such as Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF), effective analytic writing, and structured briefing techniques. Participants will be introduced to a range of Structured Analytic Techniques (SATs), including diagnostic, contrarian, and imaginative approaches, to strengthen their analytical rigour and reduce bias. The programme also emphasises effective review processes, time management, and the use of clear graphics to communicate complex information. A capstone project requires participants to integrate all learning to produce high quality and creative OSINT products under realistic time constraints.
